Description
Known for being the last to ripen, thus extending the season all the way into September. Begins setting fruit early, in 2nd or 3rd year. Also known for its tart/sweet flavor which some people love, and others “turn their nose up at”! It is widely grown, so it must not be too bad! Firm berries are excellent for freezing. 4-6 feet tall. Yellow/orange to red and purple fall color. Recommended for zones 5-7. Harvest in late season (In Southwestern Michigan beginning approximately August 25th, earlier in warmer zones)
