The large, tropical-looking leaves provide a dramatic backdrop for the vibrant red flowers. The fast-growing castor bean is grown as an annual in most parts of the United States. Growing 5 ft. tall, it can be grown as a privacy screen or in back borders. Note: Castor Bean seeds are poisonous. Some gardeners, especially those with small pets and children, may choose to remove and discard any seedpods that develop on the plant for this reason. 140-180 DAYS
