Edible fruits ripen in July
An easy fruit tree to grow, the Hardy Mulberry is fast growing and reaches a height of 25-40 ft. tall. In late July, its juicy, purple-black, sweet and flavorful berries ripen. The berries are up to an inch long and good for eating fresh. They’re most commonly used for making into jellies and deep purple wine. The berries also freeze well. The deciduous mulberry has shiny, dark green foliage and also makes a fine shade tree. Self-pollinating. Zones 4-8.
