It extends the season, as it is slow to form seed stalks. It also resists brown rib and tip burn. Because crisphead lettuce, like Ithaca, requires a long, cool growing season, most gardeners start lettuce seed indoors and transplant seedlings to the garden. Lettuce can be grown in the fall or spring garden. It also grows well in containers. 65 DAYS.
